Brooklyn cabaret-punks The World/Inferno Friendship Society are playing their annual Halloween show, Hallowmas, on 10/31 at The Warsaw in Brooklyn. The show is in support of their new album This Packed Funeral (out now on Alternative Tentacles). The band has shared tours with punk legends The Adicts and Culture Shock, and has been covered by NPR, MTV, The New York Times, VICE, The AV Club, New York magazine, Brooklyn Vegan and many more.
Hallowmas is always The World/Inferno’s most-anticipated performance of the year. The event is known for its elaborate theatrics and surprises. Past Hallowmases have included a burning effigy of singer Jack Terricloth, an ethereal string quartet, a gospel choir, circus performances, massive pumpkin balloons big enough to lift audience members off the ground, fire breathers—even a zombified marching band appearing on stage for the finale “Pumpkin Time”—a Peanuts referencing song the band only performs at Hallowmas shows.
