“I move between extremes. I do not think that people are only good or bad. We are both. That’s what the song is about. About the paradox. After all, there is no black or white. We move in between.” – ANIQO

We’re pleased to bring you the premiere of ANIQO’s music video for her song “Chess” (watch it below). The track was produced, mixed, and mastered by Joe Cardamone at Valley Recording Co. in Burbank, CA.

‘Chess’ pays homage to the paradox of life. It is about the dichotomy between the need for security and the thirst for adventure – and points to a universal validity of this conflict for human existence. The chessboard symbolizes the game of decisions – combined with fear of losing.

The video was created by Sebastian Ganschow (cinematographer), Peter Hönnemann (photographer) and ANIQO by herself. Sebastian Ganschow used several analog video processors to create the experimental glitch visuals, which refer to ANIQO’s dark pop style.
