“Atala definitely have some desert tropes thrown into their music, but they play what can be characterized as closer to a blend of desert atmospheric metal and doom. They are definitely unique, and Labyrinth of Ashmedai is worth a listen!” – Addison Herron-Wheeler (New Noise Magazine)
We’re pleased to bring you the premiere of Atala’s music video for their song “Tabernacle Of” (watch it below). The track is taken from the band’s latest album Labyrinth of Ashmedai, which is available now through Salt of the Earth Records. You can purchase the album here.
Produced by fellow Twentynine Palms, CA local Billy Anderson – otherwise recognized for his work with colossal bands such as Sleep, Melvins, and Mastodon – Labyrinth of Ashmedai conjurs grit-laced sludge inspired by their barren and often oppressive desert backdrop. Atala grips the listener with reflective, crushing doom atmospheres dripping with stoner rock and experimental influences to boot.
Atala have performed at festivals such as Maryland Doom Fest and Holland’s Roadburn Festival, and have shared the stage with bands such as Pallbearer, Baroness, Chelsea Wolf, The Obsessed, Coven, 16, Coliseum, Green Jelly and many others.
