Cable Ties are a garage punk band from Melbourne, Australia.
They’ve got a new album coming out June 23 called All Her Plans on Merge Records. The first four singles off the upcoming record are now streaming on their Bandcamp where you can also preorder the album on vinyl and CD.
First off, “Perfect Client” is has a fast, driving beat and fuzzy guitars with shrill vocals reminiscent of the greatest femme punk heroines. Then “Time for You” is a little slower with a strong and deliberate beat that keeps it a fun, swingin’ little tune as the guitars come in and give it just a little bit of alt-country. “Thoughts Back” has a funky little walking bass line that compliments the Coathangers-esque guitar. “Change” gives us more of a mod-rock style beat with a vocal performance that channels the late, great Poly Styrene.
