The Hives wrapped up the final date of their recent North American tour with a triumphant gig at The Hollywood Palladium. Touring in support of their new album, 2025’s The Hives Forever Forever the Hives, Sweden’s favorite rock ‘n’ rollers brought their A+ game, delivering a blistering headlining performance filled with crazy light-up suits, energetic stage moves, and a setlist filled with classics and killer new songs alike.

The venue was packed to the brim with members of The Hives loyal Southern California army of disciples. Frontman Howlin’ Pelle Almqvist would go on to say that this was actually The Hives largest headlining show in Los Angeles, ever, which helped keep the crowd frothing at the mouth all night. Old-school fans were delighted to hear tunes like “Walk Idiot Walk,” “Main Offender,” and, straight out of the time capsule, “Here We Go Again” from their 1997 debut Barely Legal. Most of the crowd seemed just as—if not more—eager to finally experience the plethora of new jams The Hives have unleashed upon the world. After a decade of relative silence, the band came back in a big way with 2023’s The Death of Randy Fitzsimmons and have continued this creative spree with their stunning new record.

Judging from the crowd response, it’s safe to say songs like “Paint a Picture” “Bogus Operandi” and “O.C.D.O.D.” are all guaranteed to be future classics in the bands already extensive repertoire of hits. The band ended the night with the title track from their latest album, “The Hives Forever Forever the Hives” and the audience sang along with glee knowing they all had a new favorite song, from their longstanding favorite band.
