Our friends over at For the Love of Punk have started a record label! You can hear more about it, as well as their first release, from FtLP below…
After five years of late night coding, early morning writing and skipped lunch breaks squeezing in last-minute premieres, we’re leveling up.
When founders Johnny and Dawn Wilson started For the Love of Punk in 2011, they envisioned a top-down punk rock monster that would do more than just write about our favorite bands. So when Denver’s The Windermeres found themselves recording their second full-length, we knew we had found the perfect band to launch FtLP Records.
The Windermeres are one of Denver’s brightest acts. The four-piece has been mixing pop sensibilities and politics into their punk in the Mile High City since 2012. Heavy guitar lines and bold drumming set the framework for a strong dose of melody and addictive, catchy lyrics. Their trademark powerhouse vocals are ear-worm worthy and certain to stay stuck in your head for days.
Their infectious passion bleeds from the studio to the stage, something that shines through in their newest full-length, ‘Continental Divide.’ Something we’re incredibly proud to be putting forth as our label debut.
Continental Divide is the band’s second full-length and follows up 2014’s ‘Anthem of the Recession Generation.’ The 11-track album was recorded, mixed and mastered by Chris Fogal at Black in Bluhm.
We’ll be launching pre-orders and details for The Windermeres’ ‘Continental Divide’ in the next few weeks along with a few more releases by the end of 2016. Stay tuned! And as always, thank you for your support. Here’s to five more years!
