New Noise Weekly Roundup – 4/5

Here are ten new releases you should be listening to this week!

PUP – “Kids”

Album: Morbid Stuff (Little Dipper and Rise Records)

PUP’s third album is finally out today! The lead single, “Kids,” is a certified bop, with a guitar hook that will be stuck in your head all weekend. Morbid Stuff may be their darkest record to date, but like everything PUP does, underneath everything morbid, there is joy.

Martha – “Love Keeps Kicking”

Album: Love Keeps Kicking (Dirtnap Records)

U.K.-based pop-punk band Martha wrote another fun-as-hell record. The title track is a perfect Friday song to listen to while dancing away the work week.

Exumer – “King’s End”

Album: Hostile Defiance (Metal Blade Records)

Thrash metal shredders Exumer’s fifth studio album, Hostile Defiance, comes out today on Metal Blade Records. Track five, “King’s End,” absolutely rips. If you need a song to rage to, look no further.

Ioanna Gika – “Roseate”

Album: Thalassa (Sargent House Records)

Ionna Gika’s atmospheric dream-pop definitely has some Stranger Things vibes. The Sargent House artist is equal parts nostalgic and futuristic, sounds of the past with a taste of what’s ahead.

Isotope – “M.A.N.I.C”

Album: Isotope (Carbonized Records)

Australian melodic hardcore band, Isotope’s self titled album, came out today. “M.AN.I.C.” is the second track off the album, and it is everything fans of melodic hardcore want: short, fast, and aggressive.

Wormwitch – “Disciple of the Serpent Star”

Album: Heaven Dwells Within (Prosthetic Records)

“Disciple of the Serpent Star” is the opening track to Wormwitch’s sophomore album, Heaven Dwells Within. It’s a great song to open up a metal album, fast and heavy right from the get go.

Guida – “Space Walk”

Album: E.V.A. (Burger Records)

Hailing from Rome, Italy, glam-punk outfit Guida’s new album E.V.A. (which stands for Extra-Vehicular Activity) is out now on Burger Records. The opening song, “Overdrive,” is a fun way to kick off an album about space, astronauts, and general interplanetary shenanigans.

Big Eyes – “Lucky You”

Album: Streets of the Lost (Greenway Records)

Big Eyes have a rock ‘n’ roll sound that simultaneously feels retro and current. “Lucky You” is a single off the new record, Streets of the Lost, that packs a punch with some serious riffage

Sharkmuffin – “Serpentina”

Album: Gamma Gardening (Exploding in Sound Records)

Sharkmuffin’s new EP, Gamma Gardening, is out today on Exploding in Sound Records, and it’s a banger. The third track, “Serpentina” goes hard. It’s loaded with fun riffs, powerful echo-heavy vocals, and drum patterns that will pump you full of rock energy for days.

Waste of Space Orchestra – “Seeker’s Reflection”

Album: Syntheosis (Svart)

The Finish band Waste of Space Orchestra have enough band members to fill an opera house, but don’t be fooled; this is darker than any orchestra you’ve ever seen. “Seeker’s Reflection,” the third track off the band’s debut album Syntheosis, features a little over five minutes of brutal Scandinavian goth-metal.
