In a message to attendees sent via Eventbrite, Burger Boogaloo announced the postponing of the 11th annual festival until Halloween weekend. The Oakland, California punk fest—and its entire original lineup, including Bikini Kill, Circle Jerks, and host John Waters—was originally scheduled for July 11 and 12.

Dear fans,

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Burger Boogaloo has been moved to Halloween weekend, Saturday, October 31 – Sunday, November 1. While we’re disappointed to have to change dates, we hope you’ll be as excited as we are to spend Halloween weekend with John Waters, Bikini Kill, Circle Jerks, and the rest of our incredible lineup (with more surprises TBA!) All tickets already purchased will be honored. If you have questions about your tickets, please email Thank you for sticking with us through this difficult time, and we look forward to delivering the best Boogaloo yet!

Love, BB

Oakland is one of several Bay Area counties currently under shelter-in-place restrictions at least through May 3. Similar restrictions across the United States and around the world have led to changes and cancellations for many festivals and concert tours.

Bikini Kill, on their first large-scale tour since reuniting last year, and Circle Jerks, celebrating the 40th anniversary of their 1980 album Group Sex with their own reunion tour, have both rescheduled additional concert dates to the fall.
