In the process of gearing up to play their 2005 LP, Good Apollo, I’m Burning Star IV, Volume One: From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness, for a handful of shows, Coheed and Cambria have released a single by the title of “Blind Side Sonny.”
Vocalist Claudio Sanchez says about the song:
“’Blind Side Sonny’ is a song about revenge. What may seem like an innocent choice to someone could be the breeding ground of another’s malicious misunderstanding. Perception can be your worst enemy.”
The release of this single is set to tease the release of their next project. The prog rock vets have long plotted out rich and painstakingly detailed storytelling via multiple sci-fi-leaning concept albums that extended into their own comic series. Their latest track, “Blind Side Sonny,” builds upon that world with the introduction of a new villain. They can be seen in their Max Moore-directed video. As fans swarm the band in a backlot, Sonny edges closer.
