News: Covet Launch Video Series

Bay Area trio, Covet, released their latest album “catharsis” earlier this month. The album features eight tracks full of lush guitar tones and characteristic of a fluidity of musical thought. To supplement the tracks, the band has been slow releasing videos for each song. Their most recent being the visual to go along with the title track “coronal.”

This track differentiates itself from the others on the album, as it’s the only song with clear vocals and a shoe-gaze feel with a tasteful edge and crumbs of impressive musicality. “’coronal’ was the clear choice of an album opener. It’s sonically so different from a lot of what we’ve previously released and I wanted to start this sonic ‘journey’ impactfully. It’s the only song with clear cut vocals and the lyrics with escapism from a crumbling world. I was hoping the final line, ‘I enter the void again,” would read like an open invitation to dive into the instrumental fantasy world that follows the first track,” guitarist and vocalist Yvette Young explained.

In addition to the video for “coronal” the band has also released ones for songs “firebird,” and “lovespell.” Each of the three videos display a different side of the band, with “coronal” taking on a flashy depiction with a light show of vibrant greens and blues. Where as “firebird” is framed as a narrative and “lovespell,” a dreamy art instillation.

Other videos are to come from the band as they continue on their North American tour that runs through mid May.

coronal is available for pre-order on in the Triple Crown Records webstore. Follow the band on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter for more updates.
