In 2000, young emo kids were introduced to Dashboard Confessional with their debut record Swiss Army Romance. Swiss Army Romance became an iconic album that’s played at Emo Nite and high school dances alike.
It’s safe to say most of us have danced and cried to this record in our youth, and now fans’ prayers have been answered with a vinyl reissue of Swiss Army Romance.
Dashboard Confessional are celebrating 20 years of existence with the DC20 20th Anniversary Celebration. After ten years without a repress, their debut drops on vinyl August 28. The limited-edition press comes in two variants, and the limited-edition black/green and red opaque/transparent splatter vinyl can be purchased via the Dashboard Confessional online store. The red transparent/baby pink edition is available via independent record stores.
In addition, DC will also be partnering with Mondo and releasing So Impossible, Summer’s Kiss, MTV Unplugged 2.0, and the long-awaited Spider-Man 2 EP, or as I like to call it, “the only good Spiderman movie.” More details about these releases will be coming soon.
Dashboard Confessional are also auctioning off Chris Carrabba’s signed test press of The Places… along with his guitar strap. All of the funds will be donated to the NAACP Legal Defense and Education Fund.
If that’s not enough excitement for you, DC has also released two new songs recorded at Electric Lady for Spotify Singles. Reworking their classic “Screaming Infidelities” and covering Post Malone’s hit “Circles,” they’re a great addition to your playlist.
Save the date for the releases and check out their new singles, and pull out your vans and skateboard while you’re at it. It’s time to pretend we’re living in an episode of “Laguna Beach.”
