Hard Chiller are the recent musical project from seasoned musicians Steve Choi (RX Bandits/The Sound of Animals Fighting) and Joe Vannucchi (Indian Lakes). With the release of Heavy Cell, their debut EP, it is clear that we are not dealing with amateurs. Every musical element was intentional and playfully sequenced into this four-track collection.
Hard Chiller is a pure passion project. Choi and Vannucchiset have learned what works and doesn’t work when it comes to their personal styles and preference, so they knew exactly what to lean into to make this first release successful. Heavy Cell proves impressive due to its rounded nature and is poised to appeal to a wide range of audiences.
Hard Chiller have situated themselves smack in the middle of several genres including alternative, psychedelic rock, emo, groove, and experimental. Heavy Cell was produced by Born Loser Records and also features band members Casey Deitz (The Velvet Teen) on drums and Roger Camero (The Warriors, No Motiv) on bass.
“Clouds” was the first single released by the band, accompanied by a music video that has a very retro DIY feel and gives off peak MTV era nostalgia.
Heavy Cell is available on all major streaming platforms, and records are also available for purchase here. After adding the EP to your favorites list, you’ll want to keep an eye on this group because we can’t wait to see what they do next.
