News: Knocked Loose Release Music Video for New Single ‘Don’t Reach For Me’

Knocked Loose

Following the announcement of their upcoming album, Knocked Loose aired a mind-bending music video for their new single “Don’t Reach For Me.” This song is fueled by a seething burst of emotions that can be felt through lead singer Bryan Garris’ vocals. The meaning behind the song is very personal to Garris, and playing with such raw expression allowed the band to produce what has become their most experimental track to date.

Garris opened up about the song, saying,The track may be the meanest song I’ve ever written. Someone tried their hardest to come into my life and mess with two out of the three closest people I have.”

While we can surmise there is a dark tale behind the making of “Don’t Reach For Me,” there is no denying the creative surge that came out of it, and wherever it came from, fans will be hungry for more. This single leaves a lot to be expected from the upcoming album You Won’t Go Until You’re Supposed To which is set to be released May 10 by Pure Noise Records.

“On this album, we go the fastest we’ve ever gone; we go the scariest we’ve ever gone. We also go the catchiest and the most melodic that we’ve ever gone, and that’s the point,” guitarist Isaac Hale says. “Instead of branching off into a specific direction, we want to encompass ALL directions.”

What seems to be a theme across the hardcore scene in 2024 is that boundaries are a thing of the past when it comes to sticking with a genre or overall exploration within a particular bands music. “Don’t Reach For Me” is a perfect example of how Knocked Loose can successfully evolve while maintaining the cohesive style and sound that has brought them such a dedicated fan base.

It has now been a decade since Knocked Loose released their first album and after spending the last year performing at some of the biggest stages and festivals in the country, they are like a bullet train with endless destinations. And speaking of destinations, the band is kicking off their summer tour with a performance at Sick New World Festival in Las Vegas next month.

Half the shows on the tour are already sold out and the rest have limited availability, so you better secure your spot before they’re all gone. Tickets can be found here.

The band will also be on our cover for issue 71 alongside an exclusive flexi disc. Get the issue here.
