Riot Fest just announced its complete lineup for 2023, and it’s yet another doozy of a lineup.
The Chicago Festival announced this morning its complete lineup for the 2023 festival. It’s to be held from Friday September 15 through Sunday September 17. The yearly festival is held in Douglass Park in Chicago. The headliners include the Foo Fighters and Turnstile, who will play on Friday. Then The Postal Service, Death Cab for Cutie, and Queens of the Stone Age will play Saturday. The Cure and the Mars Volta will play on Sunday. The remaining bands’ playing times will be announced at a later date.

Riot Fest has proven itself to be one of the premiere rock music festivals in the United States. The festival has been credited with the reunion of bands like Naked Raygun, the Replacements, the Original Misfits, Jawbreaker, and others. No bands seem to be having reunions for this particular Riot Fest, but there are still some really classic bands including Braid, Earth Crisis, and Mr. Bungle.
One of this year’s oddest inclusions in the festival is Insane Clown Posse. The Detroit-based rap duo tends to be derided by fans of many of the other bands on the bill. It’s possible that there might be some tension between punks and juggalos at the event. Still, the festival has a history of throwing in some unusual novelty acts over the years. For example, the 2018 Riot Fest in Chicago featured early rock ‘n’ roll pianist Jerry Lee Lewis.
Tickets to the festival went on sale at the same time as the announcement, so you can buy tickets and view the full list of bands right now at the Riot Fest website. Also don’t forget to follow the festival on social media. You can follow them on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok to keep up with other updates from Riot Fest 2023.
