News: Shamir Releases New Song, Video, ‘Gay Agenda’

Philadelphia-based indie rock artist Shamir has released a new industrial art-pop single and video, “Gay Agenda.”

The video was directed by Jenny He, who says, “’Gay Agenda’ is a song about radical acceptance internally and externally. We are only leasing our lives, so we gotta make it our own.”

Shamir worked with producer Hollow Comet, a member of the band Strange Ranger, for the track, warping heavily distorted guitars, synths, and drum machines around Shamir’s angelic, unmistakable voice.

The track acts as a glimpse into what Shamir has in store moving forward. While he has yet to share concrete plans for a new album, Shamir has a number of tour dates ahead. Check out the full list of dates here:
