News: Upchuck Announce Upcoming Album

Following their 2022 debut record Sense Yourself, Atlanta band Upchuck were met with high praise, landing them tours alongside acts like Amyl and the Sniffers and Negative Approach. Now, they are preparing to further exemplify their sound and talents on their upcoming release Bite the Hand That Feeds out October 13 via Famous Class Records.

The first single off of the album, “Freaky” is met with a video directed by Ian Cone and pays homage to Paul Reubens and Pee-wee’s Big Adventure.

Produced by Ty Segall, the album offers up a refined sound that is in line with the band’s creative vision. “Freaky,” like the rest of the album, provides the lyrical perspective of an unreliable narrator. As  vocalist Kaila Thompson put it, “I’m trying to point things out as I see them, but without critiquing anyone—I see the ways certain people act and feel like I’ve got to say something about it, but I’m not trying to pretend like I don’t act the same way sometimes. It’s all you do you, live and let live.”
