Video Premiere: Northbound – ‘Hurt Today’

Northbound just released a new lyric video for “Hurt Today,” a single from the debut album Soul Kiss, out November 22 via Smartpunk Records.

“This is the first song I wrote having this LP in mind,” Northbound explains. “Another very literal song about those days when you wake up and you just KNOW it’s going to be a bad day. It’s kind of a ‘today is going to suck; I’m just going to accept it and soak up that feeling.’ I’m accepting my misery. ‘I don’t want to ask about the way your day was.’ Because mine sucks. That’s why.
“The video, much like the song, is inspired by feeling stuck and apathetic,” he continues. “I shot the video by myself in my room, because this song is essentially about just that. When I’m alone too much, I start to really losing track of what’s actually happening and what’s fueled by anxiety. This video is half extremely realistic to what a day like that looks like for me, and the other half is pretty bombastic. I wanted to give a glimpse into that paradigm of what’s real and what’s not. Hard to tell sometimes.”
