American Television’s aptly titled “Wasteland, USA,” from their new record Watch It Burn, out on Wiretap Records January 24, is the perfect track for the current climate.

“As we self-quarantine, local businesses shutter, and schools lock their doors it’s looking bleak out there … ‘Wasteland, USA’ wasn’t written for this moment, but it’s sure working double time as the Coronavirus takes hold of all things in the world,” the band explain. “This was supposed to be satire … I suppose we’ll need to write some uplifting shit on the next record. ‘Til then, here’s a video for a song that might make you smile while the world is going to hell in a handbasket.”

American Television will be performing on May 1 as part of Wiretap Records’ livestream music series which is happening every Friday from April 10-May 1 on Wiretap’s Facebook group page.
