Emmer Effer was formed in October 2012 in Los Angeles, California. The current lineup of Adam Ruseling on bass, Jacob Albert on drums, Jimmy Herlofsky on vocals, and Kevin Wells on guitar has been intact since the band’s inception. The band recently signed to Felony Records. Emmer Effer’s debut EP on Felony, The People Are the Answer, is will be available in the spring on vinyl and is now available for pre-order and download at the Felony Records Bandcamp.
Today, we’re pleased to bring you the premiere of Emmer Effer’s new music video for their track “…Of The People” (watch below), taken from the The People Are the Answer EP.
Guitarist Kevin Wells commented:
“I have been friends with Steve Guerrero from Burning Rose Studios for awhile now, and was stoked when he showed an excited interest in making this video for this particular song. After hearing the EP, he said he wanted to make a video for ‘…Of the People.’ He has done videos for Black Pacific, The Briggs, Left Alone, and a lot of other rad bands. This turned out better than any of us imagined. I think he nailed the spirit of the song perfectly. We wrote the song with the intention of showing that whether you choose to believe it or not, the people ultimately do have the power in any given situation, and when we realize the strength in our numbers, we can affect real change. When shit is fucked up, it is up to the people to stand up against it, or turn a blind eye towards that situation. That’s our choice. I think people are starting to understand this. It just takes time, I guess, for people to come around, but with the current popularity of Bernie Sanders, perhaps that tide is finally starting to turn towards change. We’ll see.”
