Hamilton, Ontario doom meta duo Vile Creature are getting ready for what may or may not be their only live show of the year, a live-streamed performance of their latest album Glory, Glory! Apathy Took Helm! held August 14th at 8 p.m. EST.
Like most bands, Vile Creature has had to cancel any and all plans to promote their latest record with in-person appearances. Unlike some other bands though, they’ve decided to do something about it! The live performance of their latest album will apparently be fully interactive, in what they are calling a “Choose Your Own Adventure.” The band elaborates on the concept below:
The show will start at 8pm prompt – and from there, the choice really is yours. How will you experience Glory, Glory! Live!? Will you be hanging out at the merch table all night, or will you be hanging off a monitor down at the front? This interactive experience will allow you to be in complete control of your virtual concert experience. We don’t want to give away all the details in advance, so we’ll probably just meet you there…
There is a $7 dollar suggested donation for entry to the event (but no one will be turned away for an inability to paying). The performance will be hosted at http://gloryglorylive.com/, with “doors opening” at 7pm.
The Vile Creature recommends you get dressed up for the live stream as if you were actually seeing them at a club. But you could totally just show up in your pajamas. They won’t know! Only your cat will know, and what kind of world would we be living in where you can’t trust her with your secrets?
Vile Creature released their third LP Glory, Glory! Apathy Took Helm! on Prosthetic Records earlier this year to near-universal acclaim, with Angry Metal Guy calling it “grimy, nasty, suffocating” and Scene Point Blank describes it as “frightening in its honesty.”
