Our Bandcamp of the day, The Slashes, are a post-punk three-piece from San Diego, CA.

They state a mammoth list of influences: from the U.K.’s late 70s and early 80s bands and artists: Joy Division, The Jesus And Mary Chain, Gang Of Four, The Cure, David Bowie, Velvet Underground, The Modern Lovers, Marc Bolan, Leiber, and Stoller, to the U.S.’ Lou Reed and Iggy Pop.

The band met and formed in San Diego’s boating marinas in Downtown where they rehearsed and worked on boats, which in turn influenced their music, lyrics, and style.

The Slashes are: Esteban Rene (vocals/guitar), Beto Bautista (bass), and Carlos Robles (drums). Follow them on Bandcamp here.
