Here are five new albums you should check out this week!

Mikey Erg – “Clueless Or Cruel?”

Album: Waxbuilt Castles (Don Giovanni Records)

Mikey Erg has been in too many bands to count, but he occasionally finds time to put out a solo album here and there. The latest from the “dork rock” pop punk artist is very on-brand for him, and his loyal fanbase will not be disappointed.

Thy Art Is Murder – “Human Target”

Album: Human Target (Nuclear Blast Records)

Australian deathcore band Thy Art Is Murder have partnered with Nuclear Blast Records to put out a brutal new album. The title track to Human Target is aggressive as ever and has spazzy parts that lead to some really cool breakdowns.

Sanctions – “Radial Lacerations”

Album: Broken in Refraction (Pure Noise Records)

Following last year’s breakthrough album, The Infringement of God’s Plan, Sanction are back with their sophomore LP, Broken in Refraction. There is so much metalcore out there nowadays that it is difficult for bands in this genre to stand out, but Sanctions are able to set themselves apart with a sound that is refreshingly creative.

Stranger Ranger – “Leona”

Album: Remembering The Rockets (Tiny Engines Records)

Stranger Ranger have a gentle approach to indie rock, and their songs are comforting and soothing. The Portland-based band make music that feels like being inside on a rainy day wrapped up in a warm blanket.

Florist – “Shadow Bloom”

Album: Emily Alone (Double Double Whammy Records)

“Shadow Bloom,” a soft, stripped-down, acoustic track from Florist, is absolutely mesmerizing. The rest of Florist’s new record, Emily Bloom, is just as riveting, so pick it up today from Double Double Whammy Records.
