Here are five new albums you should check out this week!
Abbath – “Harvest Pyre”
Album: Outstrider (Season of Mist Records)
Outstrider, the latest record from Norwegian metal group Abbath, is a rip roaring good time of an album. Rage out to the lead single, “Harvest Pyre” right now, and then pick up the the LP from Season of Mist Records.
Lingua Ignota – “Butcher Of The World”
Album: Caligula (Profound Lore Records)
The organs and somber horn section paint this song in a dark tone. But the centerpiece of Lingua Ignota’s music is the unique vocals; both in the form of dirty growls and clean operatic singing.
Joey Cape – “I Know How To Run”
Album: Let Me Know When You Give Up (Fat Wreck Chords)
You might know Joey Cape as the frontman for the left coast punk band Lagwagon. Cape’s new solo record has more of an acoustic sound, but the punk rock roots still ring loud and clear.
3Teeth – “Exxxit”
Album: Metawar (Red Music Records)
“Exxxit,” a single of 3Teeth’s new record Metawar, which is out today on Red Music, is a brand of alternative rock akin to Marilyn Manson. Fans of early 2000’s alt rock will enjoy this band.
Necking – “Still Exist”
Album: Cut YourTeeth (Mint Records)
Necking is a really fun Canadian rock group that is resurrecting the OG indie sound. It’s impossible not to enjoy “Still Exist,” an upbeat track off of Cut YourTeeth.
