News: Cold War Kids Announce Upcoming Album

Cold War Kids

Cold War Kids have announced the release of their self-titled tenth album out Nov. 3 on Awal. With the announcement, the band has shared the first single off of the album, “Run Away With Me.”

Of the new track, frontman Nathan Willet says, We started ‘Run Away With Me’ with Carlos de la Garza as this Sly Stone type of funky soul song that evolved into a more soulful pop tune about two desperate, down-and-out lovers.”

For the album, Willet turned to a handful of producers for input and support, including Garza as well as Militarie Gun’s Max Epstein, Weezer, Phoebe Bridgers’ Ethan Gruska, and Frank Ocean and Lorde’s Malay, amongst others.

The project is a culmination of the creative force between Willet and bandmate Matt Maust that has been forged over two decades. “For so many years, we were white-knuckling it and feeling like we were imposters,” Willett says. “I realized I can’t think that way. If I’m not sure I can listen back to something and know that it’s great, then I shouldn’t be putting it out.”

The album is available to presave here.
