One of the greatest living death metal bands of our time has just released a new single! “Your Hell” is the latest taste we’ve received from Necrot as they prepare to unleash their hotly anticipated new album, Mortal via Oakland’s Tankcrime Records.
Why wait?!? Listen to “Your Hell” below:
Necrot’s bassist and vocalist Luca Indrio elaborates on the themes of the track, saying:
Your Hell’ talks about the relationship between the victim and the perpetrator of violence; how the trauma of the victim often creates new future offenders. It focuses on a vicious circle where the victim carries the trauma of the violence received, building from pain the resentment necessary to become the next perpetrator. The song also talks about the moment in which the eyes of both meet seeing each other’s future and past. The song never really literally says ‘your hell’ in the lyrics, but it does say, ‘my hell will be yours’ making it in fact ‘Your Hell.
Necrot’s next album Mortal will be out August 28th on Oakland based death metal and hardcore label Tankcrimes. Mortal was recorded by Grammy-award-winning engineer Greg Wilkinson (High On Fire, Autopsy) and mastered by Alan Douches (Cannibal Corpse, Cattle Decapitation, Mastodon) at West West Side. It is the followup to the Necrots’s critically adored and categorically ruthless debut, Blood Offerings. Mortal ‘s grotesque cover art comes courtesy of the malignant imagination of Marald Van Haasteren who has also done work with Baroness and Mortuous.
