News: The Dirty Nil Share New Single and Video

The rock trio from Ontario, The Dirty Nil release another track is off of their upcoming album Free Rein to Passions out May 26 from Dine Alone Records. Following their last single “Nicer Guy,” “Celebration,” returns with the same sonic heaviness, but perhaps lighter lyrical content.

On the song, frontman Luke Bentham says, “This is our purest love song, unconditional and without mercy.” The album itself is fairly simple lyrically, speaking on the struggles of balancing work and life as a musician, including demoralizing nine to five jobs, and the sweet release of shredding on guitar.

“The only real central theme of the album is an acknowledgment of the crazy circumstances that we all occupy at this point in time, and being nice,” Bentham says. “It’s about being nice to everyone around you, and enjoying your silly little life and not getting too smashed down by prevailing negativity in the air.”

The single, representative of what’s to come on the album, harnesses and even more reckless yet refined sound from the band. Once again working with producer Goodmanson, the band were able to capture their sound in a way that was true to their roots.
