Video Premiere: As Strange As Angels – “Miracle”

As Strange As Angels

We’re pleased to bring you the premiere of As Strange As Angels music video for their song “Miracle” (watch it below). Norman Matthew of As Strange As Angels commented on the new video:

“Coming off the success of “Mirror Mirror”, the bar has been set and the pressure is high for the forthcoming single and video ‘Miracle’. Up to this point, ‘Mirror Mirror’ was by far, the biggest evolution for me musically, lyrically, melodically and spiritually. I connected my soul to the song in ways I never thought I could. ‘Miracle’ as a song, has a heavy and dark elegance to it. Director Michael Carter and I wanted to bring the story and vibe of the song to life. ‘Miracle’ taps into my own feelings of love. Searching for and waiting on my ‘Miracle’ partner to arrive.”

Matthew continued:

“We filmed the video in Deep Ellum, the entertainment district of Dallas, TX at a place called Quixotic World Theater & Magical Space. We had some very elegant couches, lighting and backgrounds brought in for us. The video also features CJ Pierce of Drowning Pool on guitar and a cameo by Madi Ferguson of Cherry Bomb. The chorus of “Miracle” is so dark and heavy – so we used location because it had an eerie mystique to it – magic shows and supernatural events have been known to occur there. We went with an early 1900’s type ambience in clothing, presentation and aesthetic – vampiric elegance, if you will.”

“‘Miracle’ is a metaphoric ‘transference’ – each of us live for something. For me, at my core, it’s my son. He is my heart and soul. I couldn’t imagine breathing without him. Becoming a father, I learned to open my heart in ways I never had before – my son literally changed me. When Producer Sahaj Ticotin and I began “Miracle”, we dug into all the things that pull on my heart strings and began to shape it to things that we can all relate to – matters of the heart, relationships and the love that never was… Or the love of your life that got away. For me, I love and love hard – that’s where the line ‘I don’t want to wait until my heart reveals me’ came from.”

“I still believe in magic to get me through the day, and I believe in miracles. I wake up every day hoping for one so I can have proof of miracles. I hope “Miracle” touches your soul, helps you find your miracle and brings it all to life for you.”
