Bob Junior is Chilean-Norwegian indie pop drummer and solo artist. Today he releases his latest single “No One Does It Better Than You,” a collaboration he made with fellow indie-pop artist Alfie Templeman. The song is available now on YouTube.
“I hit up Alfie while being in London to see if we could make a little something special together,” Junior explains about the collaboration. “He had a couple of hours free before going to a concert. We spent most of our time hanging out and eating way too much at Five Guys. When we got to the studio, we started out with the drum beat, and since we both are fans of chords, we tried to make it interesting and a bit non-traditional. Alfie laid down the bass that gave me a good Billy Jean vibe. Six months went by, I flew over to London again, went to Alfie’s house, and finished up the track there. I love the psychedelic feeling this song gives me, to work with someone so talented such as Alfie was nothing but true joy!”
“No One Does It Better Than You” is a quirky pop tune. Latin elements find their way into this particular brand of off-kilter pop music with some slick hooks and unexpected sound effects. It’s not necessarily what you think of when you think of indie-pop, and yet it’s infectiously catchy enough to get stuck in your head for the rest of the day.
