The best things come in threes, and the dual album Shock Therapy by New Jersey’s Gel and Romanian-based Cold Brats is no exception. Shock Therapy was produced back in 2022 with an initial limited 12-inch vinyl press release. A second run was released last year, and now, after a year of being out of press, the bands announced their release of a third round of vinyl presses with Convulse Records.
Each release has consisted of, you guessed it, three unique vinyl designs and colorways. This newest drop includes a neon pink vinyl, a clear vinyl covered in yellow and blue splatter paint, and a dark blue and black “smash” vinyl. Each press has a limited number of available records, and the past two have sold out, so you’d better get yours sooner or later before they are gone for good.
Despite these bands being from opposite ends of the world, the converged EP highlights their complimentary sounds. Both groups incorporate grunge-punk elements with fast paced instrumentals, bellowed vocals, and unapologetically tough attitudes.
With only a few hundred of each press being released, once they are sold out it is extremely hard to get your hands on a copy and with the resale value skyrocketing, trust us when we say you do not want to miss out.
