Coming from a small beach town in South Carolina and taking their name from a local landmark in that town called Winyah Bay, indie rock heroes Winyah are developing a reputation for their unique take on southern rock with their powerful vocals and mesmerizing guitar solos. Having shared stages with the likes of The Red Clay Strays, Evan Honer, and Willis and having graced stages at Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza, Winyah’s stock is growing quickly.
Today, the band are premiering the song “Nothin’ At All,” a song with soulful acoustic guitars and a laid-back groove that wins you over with its clever and charming lyrics. “This song is a testament about growing up, late night drives and staying up all night with your friends, and ending up at waffle house at 4 a.m. and not knowing how you got there,” say the band about the new track. “We feel like in a lot of ways, this song captures the spirit of Winyah and the spirit of the band. We’re best friends that all grew up in South Carolina together, surfing, partying, learning, and growing, and I think those are some things we will always continue to do as the band evolves. It’s a nice reminder that, while a lot of things will change, we’ll always be able to come back home and come back to what’s familiar to us and the things that keep us grounded.”
