Milan, Italy elctro-dreampop duo Oneiros Way are revealing their new LP, The Dawn Is Near, full of dark-tinted, ethereal songs echoing through trip-hop rhythms and post-rock subtleties. The album isn’t officially out until September 24, but we are premiering it early today, here at New Noise.
The duo—Regina and Claudio—take advantage of an array of instruments, includes acoustic pianos, banjos, analog drug machines, and even pans, streams, empty bottles, and an abundance of samples. It feels at home with bands like Beach House, Cocteau Twins, and Massive Attack, while creating a sound that is uniquely Oneiros Way.
The band chat more about the new album: “The Dawn Is Near is an alien glance at primordial landscapes; it describes the passing of the hours, and the turning of colors and sounds, the merciless alternation of nights, darkness, fog, and again light; spasmodic craving for freedom, which turns out to be nothing more than strenuous adaptation to the state of necessity.”
